The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester report the following incidents:
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS, FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON THE RIGHT, TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS AND OPERATING A MOTOR-VEHICLE WITHOUT INSURANCE - On March 23, John Cosgrove, 31, of Leesville Road, Moodus was arrested by East Hampton Police and charged with the above violations. Cosgrove was released on a $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on 4/6/16.
VANDALISM AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - On March 28 at approximately 9:35 p.m., East Haddam Police received a complaint from a resident about graffiti at the East Haddam Skate Park, located at Wigwam Road in Moodus. The incident was believed to have taken place over the weekend of 3/26 - 3/27. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND THREATENING - On March 29 at approximately 9:53 p.m., police responded to a domestic violence report at an East Haddam-Colchester Turnpike residence. Scott Latronica, 33, of Middletown Avenue, East Hampton was arrested and charged with the above violations. Latronica was released on a $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on 3/30/16.
LARCENY - On March 31 at 11:09 a.m., East Haddam Police received a report that an aluminum ladder, an extension chord and copper were stolen from a construction site on Creek Row in East Haddam. DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On March 31 at approximately 6:39 p.m., Terrance Moore, 18, of Freestone Avenue, Portland was arrested and charged with the above violation, related to a physical altercation with an ex-girlfriend. Moore was released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear next at Middletown Superior Court on5/13/16.
MOTOR-VEHICLE VS. UTILITY POLE - On April 4 at approximately 1:35 p.m., Rebekah Rogoff, 20, of Falls-Bashan Road, Moodus was traveling westbound on Route 151 in Moodus, just west of Davidson Road in a 2001 Infiniti QX4. Police said that she stated that another vehicle, coming in the opposite direction, was partially in her lane of travel. While trying to avoid colliding with the other vehicle, she lost control, traveled up an embankment on the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported. Police issued Rogoff a verbal warning for Traveling Too Fast for Conditions.
MOTOR-VEHICLE VS. UTILITY POLE - On April 4 at approximately 2:32 p.m., Kenneth McMillan, 44, of Wilbur Avenue, Meriden was traveling eastbound on Cold Spring Road in the area of Petticoat Lane in East Haddam, driving a 2011 Toyota Sienna. Police said that as McMillan was descending a hill on a curve, he lost control of the vehicle, crossed over to the left shoulder of the roadway and struck a utility pole. McMillan and his two passengers were transported by Essex Ambulance to Middlesex Hospital for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries. Police issued McMillan a verbal warning for Traveling Too Fast for Conditions.
MOTOR-VEHICLE VS GUARDRAILS - On April 5 at approximately 5:53 a.m., Scot Kellman, 54, of Waterhole Road, East Hampton was traveling northbound on North Moodus Road in Moodus, operating a 2013 Nissan Frontier. Police said that Kellman lost control of his vehicle on the ice and slush-covered roadway and collided with a guardrail on the right shoulder, causing heavy damage to his vehicle. Kellman was issued an infraction for Traveling Too Fast for Conditions. No injuries were reported.
MOTOR-VEHICLE VS. TREE - On April 7 at approximately 7:30 a.m., Armahni Chanel, 18, of Alger Road, East Haddam was traveling southbound on Alger Road, driving a 2006 Dodge Dakota. Police said that Chanel lost control of the vehicle and went off the roadway, striking a tree. Chanel was issued a written warning for Traveling Too Fast for Conditions.
INTERFERING WITH AN EMERGENCY CALL AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On April 10 at approximately 4:16 p.m., East Haddam Police were dispatched to a Brooke Hill Road residence for a report of an interrupted 911 call. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Charles Marshall, 24, of Brooke Hill Road, East Haddam. Marshall was charged with the above violations, released on a $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on 4/10/16.
RISK OF INJURY TO A MINOR AND PURCHASING ALCOHOL FOR A MINOR - On April 11 at approximately 3:03 p.m., Jacob Rucker, 23, of Creek Row, East Haddam, turned himself in to Troop K, based on an active warrant for his arrest, related to an incident that occurred on 2/13/16. Rucker was issued a $1,500 bond and given a court date of 4/12/16 at Middletown Superior Court.
LARCENY AND OPERATING A MOTOR-VEHICLE UNDER SUSPENSION - On April 12 at approximately 10:09 p.m., Samuel Austin Shepley, 24, of Triangle Drive, Moodus was taken into custody to Troop K based on an active warrant for his arrest by East Haddam Police, related to the theft of refundable bottles and cans from the Boy Scouts' collection bin at the East Haddam Transfer Station. Shepley was arrested and charged with 6th-Degree Larceny and Operating a Motor-Vehicle with a Suspended License. He was held on a $450 bond and scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on 4/13/16.
ILLEGAL DELIVERY OF ALCOHOL TO A MINOR - On April 14 at approximately 7:10 p.m., Brandon Dominique, 19, of East Haddam-Colchester Turnpike, East Haddam turned himself in to Troop K based on an active warrant. Dominique was arrested and charged with the above violation in connection with a 1/2/16 incident. He was released on a $2,500 bond and given a court date of 4/26/16 at Middletown Superior Court.
PERMITTING A MINOR TO ILLEGALLY POSSESS LIQUOR AND RISK OF INJURY TO A CHILD - On April 15, Robert Fox, 70, and Jane Fox, 46, both of East Haddam-Colchester Turnpike, East Haddam turned themselves in to Troop K based on an active warrant for their arrests. According to police, the warrants stemmed from an underage drinking party that occurred at their residence on 1/2/16. They were each arrested and charged with (9) counts of Permitting Minors to Illegally Possess Liquor in a Home or on Private Property and (2) counts of Risk of Injury to a Child. They were released on $2,500 bonds and scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on 4/26/16. All visiting minors were issued infractions for Illegal Possession of Liquor by a Minor.
