Creating a Public Disturbance, Stolen Kayak, Violation of Probation and Conditions of Release, Disorderly Conduct, Risk of Injury to a Minor, Larceny and DUI through 7-24-13


The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester report the following incidents:

CREATING A PUBLIC DISTURBANCE - On July 13th at approximately 10:00 p.m., East Hampton police were working on the fairgrounds at East Hampton's Old Home Days celebration. The fairground coordinator informed an officer that there was an intoxicated male, urinating on the dance floor in front of the band and several other people. Joseph Urbano, 23, of Elaine Drive, Moodus was issued an infraction for creating a public disturbance.

STOLEN KAYAK - On July 16th, East Haddam Police received a complaint about the theft of a "Perception" kayak, taken from the Oak Road, East Haddam area (Moodus Lake Shores community) located near the upper Moodus Reservoir. The kayak is described as being red in color, with yellow specks. Anyone with information that could help police with this investigation is asked to contact Officer Jeff Rhoades at the East Haddam Resident Troopers' Office at 860-873-1226, or the Connecticut State Police, Troop K at 860-537-7500.

VIOLATION OF PROBATION AND CONDITIONS OF RELEASE - On July 18th at approximately 6:00 p.m., Justin Mikan, 30, of Lake Hayward Road, Colchester was arrested and charged with the above violation. Mikan was held on a $25,000 bond and transported to Norwich Superior Court on 7/19/13.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS - On July 18th at approximately 8:30 p.m., Dennis Bergeron, 50, of Whitman Road, Moodus was arrested and charged with the above violation. Bergeron was released on a $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court on 7/30/13.

LARCENY - On July 21st at approximately 10:24 a.m., Daniel O'Mara, 23, of Berry Road, East Haddam was arrested, pursuant to a warrant, and charged with 5th-degree larceny. O'Mara was held on a $2,500 bond and given a court date of 7/22/13 at Middletown Superior Court.

FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT - On July 22nd, Timothy Bernard, 23, of Brennan Road, Amston was arrested pursuant to a warrant for the above charge. Bernard was released on a $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear at Middletown Court on 8/6/13.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On July 22nd, shortly before 2:26 p.m., East Haddam police received a 911 call from Moodus, reporting a physical altercation between two individuals. After police arrived, a subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Christopher Millette, 26, of Red Mill Lane in Moodus. Millette was charged with the above violation, and a juvenile was also arrested and charged with the same, as a result of this incident. Millette was processed and released on a $500 bond and given a court date of 8/6/13.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS - On July 22nd at approximately 9:04 p.m., Christopher Winkler, 45, of Tater Hill Road, East Haddam was arrested and charged with DUI and operating a motor-vehicle with a suspended license. Winkler was released on a $2,500 bond and given a court date of 7/31/13.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND RISK OF INJURY TO A MINOR - On July 23rd at approximately 10:13 a.m., John Owens, 35, of North Moodus Road, Moodus was arrested and charged with the above violations, as a result of a domestic violence incident. Owens was held on a $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on 7/24/13 at Middletown Superior Court.

LARCENY - On July 24th at approximately 7:40 a.m., Amber Cromeenes, 29, of Victoria Drive, Colchester was arrested pursuant to a warrant for 5th-degree larceny. Cromeenes was held on a $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on the same day.
