The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester report the following incidents:
THREATENING - On August 16, East Haddam police received a complaint from a Bashan Road, East Haddam resident, stating that her son had been threatened by another East Haddam resident via Facebook. The incident is under investigation.
LARCENY - On August 17 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Tammy Gorman, 41, of Rattling Valley Road, Middletown was arrested, pursuant to a warrant, and charged with 6th-degree larceny. Gorman was released on a $500 bond and scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on 8/27/13.
RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, BREACH OF PEACE AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - On August 20 at approximately 7:11 p.m., Craig Lagasse, 52, of Old Saltworks Road, Westbrook was arrested and charged with 2nd-degree reckless endangerment, breach of peace and 2nd-degree criminal mischief. Lagasse was released on a $1,000 bond and given a court date of 9/10/13 at Middletown Superior Court.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On August 20 at approximately 10:43 p.m., Diana Polikowski, 33, of Adams Street, New Britain was arrested and charged with the above violation. Polikowski was released on a $500 bond and scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on 9/10/13.
MOTORCYCLE VS ROCK - On August 23 at approximately 5:27 p.m., William Maynard, 42, of Knoll Road, Moodus was traveling eastbound on Great Hillwood Road in Moodus, operating a 2005 Harley Davidson Night Train. According to police, Maynard lost control of the motorcycle and traveled off the roadway, striking a rock. The bike then continued in an easterly direction, coming to rest on its side. Maynard was transported to Marlborough Clinic for evaluation and treatment of a head injury. Police said he was not wearing a helmet. The motorcycle was towed from the scene.
HEAD-ON COLLISION - On August 27 at approximately 10:17 a.m., Gregory Newman, 25, of Dublin Avenue, Higganum was traveling westbound on Route 82, (Town Street) in the area of Clark Hill Road, East Haddam in a 1998 Ford Contour. Walter Baldyga, 71, also of Higganum, was traveling eastbound in a 2004 Cadillac Coup de Ville. Police said that Newman crossed into the eastbound lane of travel, causing the vehicles to collide head-on. Baldyga was transported to Middlesex Hospital by East Haddam Ambulance to be evaluated and treated for neck pain. Newman suffered lacerations to his arms. Police issued Newman an infraction for failure to keep right.
TWO-CAR COLLISION - On August 27 at approximately 5:09 p.m., Debra Denette, 48, of Schulman-Veselak Road, East Haddam (operating a 2012 Nissan Rogue) and Edward Dobrinski, 32, of Mount Parnassus Road, East Haddam (operating a 2013 Chrysler 200) were both traveling eastbound on Route 82 (Town Street) in East Haddam. Police said that Denette attempted to slow down for a vehicle turning onto Commerce Drive. Dobrinski was unable to stop in time, subsequently striking Denette's vehicle from behind. No injuries were reported, and the accident remains under investigation.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND ASSAULT - On August 27 at approximately 11:44 p.m., Samantha Melendez, 19, of Moodus was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and 3rd-degree assault. Melendez was released on a $1,500 bond and given a court date of 8/27/13 at Norwich Superior Court.
STOLEN MOTOR-VEHICLE - On August 27, Jesse Ramcke, 26, of Triangle Drive, Moodus was arrested, pursuant to a warrant, and charged with 3rd-degree larceny of a motor-vehicle. Ramcke was held on a $7,500 bond, pending a court date of 8/28/13. According to court records, Ramcke is also facing previous charges of burglary, larceny, theft of a firearm and violation of probation.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - On August 28 at approximately 8:15 p.m., Douglas Wilson, 50, of Scenic View Drive, Deep River was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and 3rd-degree criminal mischief, as a result of a domestic violence altercation. Police said that Wilson broke a window at a girlfriend's residence, located on Triangle Drive in Moodus. Wilson was held on a $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on 8/29/13.
TWO-CAR COLLISION - On August 28 at approximately 2:13 p.m., Silvana Aresco, 60, of Tater Hill Road, East Haddam was traveling northbound on Route 151 (Town Street) in East Haddam, driving a 2000 Honda Accord. Marisa LeFebvre, 21, of Maplewood Drive, Clinton was traveling along Orchard Road in East Haddam, operating a 2002 Jeep Liberty. As LeFebvre attempted to cross through the intersection at Town Street and Orchard Road, police said she struck Aresco's vehicle. No injuries were reported, and the accident remains under investigation.
An arrest or infraction does not indicate a conviction, and all individuals listed in these reports are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
