Stolen Boat, Violation of a Protective Order, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Narcotics and Drug Paraphernalia, DUI, Interfering with Police, Burglary and Larceny through 4-11-13

The following information has been provided by the East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester:

EVADING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT, FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON THE RIGHT AND TRAVELING UNREASONABLY FAST - On April 2 at approximately 5:19 a.m., State Police responded to the report of a traffic accident on Ackley Road in East Haddam, involving a motor-vehicle vs. tree. When Troopers arrived, there were no occupants in the vehicle. Police said that the vehicle, a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta, appeared that it had been traveling eastbound on Ackley Road and subsequently proceeded off the left side of the dirt roadway, striking a tree. Police eventually made contact with the driver, who admitted leaving the scene of the accident. No injuries were reported. Amber Blandina, 24, of Balaban Road, Colchester was issued a misdemeanor summons for the above violations and given a court date of 4/17/13 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

HARASSMENT - On April 2 at approximately 6:15 p.m., Alan Bogart, 49, of Lumberyard Road, East Haddam was arrested and charged with 2nd-degree harassment. Bogart was released on a $500 bond and scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court on 4/3/13.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM - On April 4 at approximately 9:55 a.m., Justin Weissinger, 25, of Brush Hill Road, Lyme was arrested while at court and charged with (4) counts of criminal possession of a firearm. Weissinger was held on $150,000 in bonds and is scheduled to appear next on 4/15/13 at New London Superior Court.

FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT - On April 5, Peter Allen, 51, of Wickham Road, East Haddam was arrested pursuant to a P.R.A.W.N.* warrant and charged with 2nd-degree failure to appear. The charge stems from a previous arrest for operating a motor-vehicle under a suspended license. Allen was released on a $500 bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 4/16/13.

VIOLATION OF A PROTECTIVE ORDER, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, INTERFERING WITH AN EMERGENCY CALL, RECKLESS DRIVING, INTERFERING WITH POLICE AND ENGAGING AN OFFICER IN PURSUIT - On April 6 at approximately 3:44 p.m., Paul Martell, 51, of Bogel Road, East Haddam was arrested and charged with the above violations. Police said that Martell had been involved in a domestic incident with a family member, who currently has a protective order in place. Martell then left the scene of the incident. When police were able to locate him a short time later, he engaged them in pursuit and was subsequently involved in a motor-vehicle accident on Route 16 in Colchester. Martell was reportedly not injured as a result of the accident. He was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond and given a court date of 4/8/13 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

LARCENY - On April 6 at approximately 5:33 p.m., Jacob Pinard, 18, of Creek Row, East Haddam turned himself in to Troop K and was arrested and charged with 6th-degree larceny. Pinard was released on a $500 bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 4/23/13.

INTERFERING WITH AN OFFICER - On April 6 at approximately 6:58 p.m., Steven Sibley, 49, of Trowbridge Road, Moodus was taken into custody, arrested and charged with interfering with police. Sibley was later released on a $500 bond and given a court date of 4/16/13 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS AND FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON THE RIGHT - On April 6 at approximately 7:50 p.m., Christopher Winkler, 44, of Tater Hill Road, East Haddam was located by police on Warner Road in East Haddam, arrested and charged with the above violations. Winkler was later released on a $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 4/15/13.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS, OPERATING AN UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, OPERATING WITHOUT INSURANCE AND FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON THE RIGHT - On April 9 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Ralph Lentz, 69, of Candlewood Hill Road, Higganum was observed by police on Main Sreet in East Haddam, operating his vehicle erratically. After conducting a motor-vehicle stop, police said they noticed the odor of alcohol. Lentz failed the standardized field-sobriety tests, was taken into custody and arrested and charged with the above violations. He was later released on a $500 bond and given a court date of 4/24/13 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

LARCENY, POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS AND POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - On April 10 at approximately 7:00 a.m., State Police from Troop K in Colchester, with the assistance of officers from Troop F in Westbrook, located Amy Soucy, 24, at the Shepard House on Bow Lane in Middletown. Soucy was taken into custody pursuant to an active arrest warrant for 3rd-degree larceny, related to a previous incident on Smith Road in East Haddam. Police subsequently found Soucy in possession of narcotics (two counts) and in possession of narcotic-related drug paraphernalia (two counts). Soucy was held on a $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 4/11/13. 

STOLEN BOAT - On April 11 at approximately 9:36 a.m., East Haddam Police received a complaint from a Shore Road, East Haddam resident, reporting that their 14-foot Starcraft aluminum boat (Registration #CT-6219-M) had been stolen from their property on the upper Moodus Reservoir. BURGLARY AND LARCENY BY POSSESSION - On April 11 at approximately 2:00 p.m., police were dispatched to a North Moodus Road address to investigate a dispute. Upon further investigation, Damon Jansky, 19, of Bruce Circle, Colchester was reportedly found to be in possession of stolen money and jewelry. A witness that was home at the time of the incident had reported that Jansky had entered a bedroom and taken the items. Jansky was subsequently arrested and charged with 2nd-degree burglary and 6th-degree larceny by possession. Jansky was held on a $1,000 bond and given a court date of 4/12/13 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.
